In Memory of Bane Hereford
Fisher House Foundation is best known for a network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
These homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve. Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room and an inviting living room. Fisher House Foundation ensures that there is never a lodging fee.
Bane was profoundly affected by his service in the Army during the Vietnam War and the lack of support for those sent to serve our country during and after this difficult and controversial conflict. His education and skills led to him being stationed in support services away from the front lines, but he never forgot the sacrifice of his fellow soldiers who lost their lives in service and never overcame the guilt of having survived when others did not.
In honor of the support and care he provided to so many family and friends throughout his life, Bane's family kindly request donations to Fisher House to support veterans and their families in their time of need.
