Join me in Supporting Fisher House this Year!
I'm excited to run the NYC Marathon this fall as a Fisher House team member & fundraiser!
I first encountered Fisher House at Landstuhl, Germany in 2005 while working as an Army Protocol Officer. The Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes close to military hospitals where military & veteran families can stay - free of charge - while a loved one receives care. As of today, Fisher House Foundation operates 82 locations located across 25 military installations and 34 VA medical centers.
I accompanied many VIPs on Fisher House tours that year, and I was touched by the level of service, care, and compassion that this organization provides to grieving and displaced people who travel far from home to be with their wounded family member in the days, weeks, and months after medivac from a far off combat zone.
I'm fundraising for Fisher House because it is a worthy cause which gives back to American families who have themselves given so much to our country.
If you are planning on giving to a charity this calendar year, I'd be honored if you'd consider Fisher House as your charity of choice. My goal this year is $2,500 raised by race day, and I'm hoping it will be higher than that.
Thank you and let me know if you're interested in joining me for a run this Summer!
You can help military and veterans’ families, like the Chwalik’s, feel that sense of normality when they need it most, during a medical crisis.
Donate with confidence: Fisher House has received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator 15 years in a row and an A+ rating from CharityWatch/American Institute of Philanthropy.
