HCC Always Forward 22
For decades men and women have sacrficied themselves in service of their country. Our freeedom is a price they are willing to pay time and time again. Often, as part of the price, there are physical injuries that require extensive medical and rehabilitative treatments. The support of their families is instrumental in helping them get through those difficult times.
Fisher House Foundation builds "comfort homes" for families of hospitalized military personnel and veterans. The Fisher House Foundation was founded in 1990 after the first Gulf War. The need increased after 9/11, as battlefield casualities increased. While the number of U.S. military personnel engaged in combat has decreased, there remain many who are wounded physically, mentally, or both. For more than 25 years, the Fisher House program has provided "a home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. These homes offer free, temporary lodging to military and veterans' families, allowing them to be close to their loved one during the medical crisis and focus on what's important-the healing process.
You can help military and veterans families feel that glimmer of hope when they need it most, at a time of a medical crisis.
Donate with confidence: Fisher House has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator 14 years in a row and an A+ rating from CharityWatch/American Institute of Philanthropy.
