Riding With Billy and Stacie
Hello! We are Billy & Stacie Benedict, a husband and wife team, from Orofino, Idaho, who love riding bicycles and motorcycles. We are planning a bicycle ride across the country, from Phoenix, AZ to the east coast, starting February 14th. We hope to raise awareness and funds for Fisher House Charities, as we go.
Billy's dad served in the Army, and was part of the D Day invasion in Normandy. Billy's brothers, uncles, and cousins have also served. Billy served in the Army, in the early seventies, and Billy's daughter, Sarah, served in the Air Force. Stacie's dad served in the Navy, in the early sixties, and her great uncle was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
We’ve signed up for this challenge because we want to make a difference in the lives of ill and injured veterans who have sacrificed for our freedoms, and your freedoms. We're inspired by the work of Fisher House, and want to support them by raising money as we ride our bicycles across the country.
For more than 25 years, the Fisher House program has provided “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA
medical centers. These homes offer free, temporary lodging to military and veterans’
families, allowing them to be close to their loved one during a medical crisis and focus on what’s important—the healing process. There are 75+ Fisher Houses located in the US, Germany and United Kingdom.
Please help us help Fisher House, by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people that know about Fisher House, the greater their impact.
