Operation Cartwheels: Honoring our Veterans
We are so excited to be hosting our first annual Veteran's Day Cartwheel-a-thon!! Operation Cartwheels will be our fall fundraiser and all proceeds will go The Fisher House at Ft. Bragg! The Ft. Bragg Fisher House is an amazing organization that provides comfort and care, as well as shelter and support for families of soldiers who have been severely injured or are battling a serious illness. The Fisher House also host soldiers and their families who have to travel from farther distances before and after surgeries and/or procedures. This awesome organization hosts these families at no cost while providing comforting "home away from home" experiences during difficult times. During the FY 2020, The Ft. Bragg Fisher House hosted 150 families totaling 550 nights of free lodging. The Fisher House is operated by the Department of the Army, but functions daily because of the volunteers who bring food and snacks, entertainment and activities as well as the supplies and money donated from people and groups in their community.
We want AGA to be a helping part of such an awesome organization and what better time to help than Veteran's Day! We will be hosting Operation Cartwheels during the week of November 9th through the 14th! Our gymnasts can raise money per cartwheel or can receive flat donations for this event. Our goal as a gym is to raise $1,000 to donate to The Fisher House. All donations (cash only) and pledge forms must be turned in by November 20th. There is no registration fee to participate in this event. Starting on December 9th, all classes will spend 15 minutes completing their cartwheels according to the chart below. You can print off the pledge form from the link below and start collecting! We are so excited for this event and to make a difference as a team and gym!
