Beazer Homes and Fisher House
I swore I wouldn't do it again but I lied! I signed up for the Half Marathon again this year. Partly because my CEO made me do it and partly because I actually did have fun last year...minus the running part. I finished the race in just over 2 hours and 30 minutes after training for less than 12 weeks. I'm getting a head start with my running and am hoping to break that 2:30 mark. I'm too competitive not to push my self to do better this time!
The Nashville Rock and Roll is a huge initiative for Beazer. As a company, we run the race to raise money for the Fisher House Foundation which is committed to providing local housing for military families while their loved ones receive treatment. Our military men and women have always held a special place in my heart, and I'm happy to find ways to support them through this race.
There will be over 100 Beazer employees in Nashville that weekend which is pretty awesome. The goal is to raise $300,000 across all of the divisions and our corporate office. Team Virginia is pushing to raise $9k plus towards that goal of which $3k I'm hoping to raise myself.
I hate fundraising but truly believe in what this organization does to help our military families. If you are willing and able to give, I would greatly appreciate it!
